DESCRIPTION:
Designed for the Palm Beach Residence, these custom silk rugs are designed to give a softness underfoot and add splashes of color to their given rooms. Silk was chosen both for its rich materiality, as well as its interplay with light and movement. Wanting the rugs to relate to their context, a clipping mask was used over an earlier schematic design drawing (an architectural objet trouvé...so to speak), to create the color blocks and resultant patterns. The included diagrams show that process.
